Indiana Transfer Council Sub-Committees

 

 

Marketing & Communications

 

  • Develop and update website with membership, committee, and contact information; work with graphic designer to develop logo; obtain and advertise college fairs

  • Create content and edit monthly newsletter to send to members

  • Implement social media strategy including Facebook and Twitter

  • Write, edit, and coordinate all communications pieces

 

Conference

 

  • Speakers/sessions (do a call out to see what might be of interest)

  • Food reservations

  • Timeframe? When would be the best time for recruiters to attend a conference

  • Should there be a theme?

  • Identify venues; plan and execute logistics for annual conference; maintain budget and costs affiliated with event

  • Determine best time of year/date for conference

  • Research other state organization conferences

 

Membership

  • Establish dues: individual or institutional

  • Qualifications: what makes you eligible to be a member

  • Members only perks: access to certain info? Early bird pricing for conference, etc.

 

Professional Development Programming & Events

  • Provide knowledge of upcoming trainings/workshops regarding all aspects of transfer. New upcoming state guidelines, processes, etc.

  • Offer CEU if necessary

Scholarship

 

  • Award 1-2 scholarships to students transferring in the fall semester

  • Links to transfer scholarship

  • Award  a one-year membership to a member during the Annual Transfer Summit

 

Trends & Best Practices

 

  • Collaborate with the Communication & Professional Development Committees specifically to promote awareness of issues & resources available for advisors, counselors, transfer specialists, etc.

  • Stay abreast of best practices, literature, research and trends relating to transfer students, transferability of credit

  • Contribute toward existent knowledge, literature and research of transfer related issues through independent and collaborative research projects, ITC newsletter contributions and articles or other publications.  These publications may be used specifically for the ITC or submitted for publication through a national organization such as, AACRAO, NACAC, etc.

  • Review articles and publications about transfer related issues

  • Create & maintain a database of transfer resources

  • Develop & submit proposals for ITC conference and other transfer conferences

  • Support other ITC committees as requested

 

Indiana Commission for Higher Education

 

  • Act as liaison to ICHE for each sub-committee represented

  • Oversee sub-committee and make final decisions

  • Prepare materials to be presented to ICHE
