March: Suicide Prevention

All students have challenges in life. However, for some it is more severe with depression and suicidal thoughts. Our next Transfer Talk will help transfer advocates learn the signs to look for and how to respond with the QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) Gatekeeper Training. Gatekeeps are those who are in positions to recognize and refer someone at risk of suicide. The QPR process follows three steps: (1) Question the individual's desire or intent regarding suicide, (2) Persuade the person to seek and accept help, and (3) Refer the person to appropriate resources. The session will last an hour and 30 minutes and includes exercises to practice the QPR method.

To register, click the link below or the ITC   "More" tab for membership plans and pricing. You will see "Suicide Prevention Transfer Talk" for $0. An email with login information will be sent to the first 15 registrations.

*Registration available for first 15 participants only, and the session will not be recorded. If  we have enough interest, we may be able to offer an additional session in the future.
